SpiritRx Hand Sanitizer

Our hand sanitizers are on allocation exclusively for rural and remote First Nation communities at this time.

The WHO, the CDC and PHAC all agree:  Washing your hands with soap and water is your best protection against germs.  But when soap, or water, is not available, using hand sanitizer can be an effective method for cleaning your hands.

The CDC indicates that “using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others”. Our hand sanitizers are a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol as well as Tea Tree and lemon essential oils that have natural astringent and antimicrobial effects.  They are available in 60mL and 250mL sizes.

Instructions for use:  Put enough product on hands to cover all surfaces. Rub hands together, until hands feel dry. This should take around 20 seconds.

When to clean your hands:

Some of the most common times you should be thinking about cleaning your hands include:

  • When you come home from being out
  • Before preparing food
  • Before and after you go to the bathroom
  • After you come in contact with surfaces other people routinely touch (door handles, debit machines, counters at stores or health clinics)
  • When you touch or shake hands with someone else
  • After touching other people’s phones
  • before and after spending time with someone who is sick

    • Warnings & Safe Use:  Swallowing or inhaling isopropyl alcohol can cause headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, and unconsciousness. Long-term effects of working with this substance are not well-known at this time, so care and caution should be taken when handling isopropyl alcohol and isopropyl products as a preventative measure.
